Submitting An Event to the Community Calendar


All submissions will be reviewed before posting to the city's Community Calendar. The city has the discretion to determine which public events will be included in the calendar. The events should provide entertainment, food or other attractions to a diverse population, and promote the economic benefits of tourism or enhance the quality of life of the community. All events must be open to the general public (for free or cost), located within the City of Greenville and organized for non-profit purposes.

Lane Closure along W Broad Street, between W Washington Street and W McBee Avenue

Wednesday, March 1, 2023

On Wednesday, March 1, Duke Energy will begin installing a duct bank along W Broad Street, between W Washington Street and W McBee Avenue. The majority of work will take place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Friday. Some Saturday work will also be required and periodic concrete pours will be done during the daytime between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. 

One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times and flaggers will be on-site to guide traffic through the work zone. Once installation of the duct bank on W Broad Street is complete, crews will begin installing a duct bank on W Washington Street, between W Broad Street and Academy Street. Weather permitting, the entire project is expected to take three months to complete. The purpose of the project is to improve reliability and increase capacity in the downtown area.
