The City is committed to creating engaging play spaces: a total of 10 playgrounds were upgraded in 2018; and the Kiwanis playground will be completed in the 2019-20 budget year.

The City of Greenville Parks & Recreation Department needs your help to determine how residents currently use Kiwanis Park, located at 2 Old Augusta Road. The City is gathering information on the types of playground amenities residents would like to see added to the park.

The existing Kiwanis Park playground is more than 10 years old and is slated for replacement in 2020. Participate in the survey at before Thursday, Nov. 14.

About the Neighborhood Park Improvement Plan (NPP)

The Neighborhood Park Program (NPP) initiative calls for replacement of 1-2 playgrounds each year. The City launched the NPP in 2018, investing $3.6 million to make targeted improvements in neighborhood parks. In the first NPP cycle, the City upgraded 24 park spaces and replaced a total of 10 playgrounds to address a backlog of needs. This replacement program keeps the department's focus on safety, ensuring that playgrounds are replaced at the end of their useful life.
