City Council Committee Schedules Added to Electronic Subscriptions

To ensure more efficient and expedient consideration of policy issues, City Council recently reinstituted its standing committee structure and established the following committees:

Committee on Planning and Neighborhoods

Meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at 10:30 a.m.

Chair: Amy Doyle

Members: Lillian Flemming, Jil Littlejohn, Russell Stall

Provides oversight on council priorities and capital projects related to planning, parks, recreation, neighborhoods, housing, public transportation and events.

Committee on Public Safety and General Government

Meets the 4th Monday of the month at 4 p.m.

Chair: Jil Littlejohn

Members: Knox White, Wil Brasington, Russell Stall

Provides oversight on council priorities and capital projects related to police, fire, municipal court, city attorney, convention center and government relations.

Committee on Development and Finance

Meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 3:30 p.m.

Chair: George Fletcher

Members: Knox White, Lillian Flemming, Wil Brasington

Provides oversight on council priorities and capital projects related to public works, infrastructure, economic development and finance.

Additionally, the Committee of the Whole, which includes all City Council members, meets the 2nd Monday of the month at 4 p.m.

Citizens who are interested in receiving electronic meeting notifications and agendas for the committee meetings can now subscribe online at http://greenvillesc.gov/list.aspx under the “Calendar” and “Agenda Center” headings.
