Road Closures

From time to time, the City permits the temporary closure of a street to facilitate construction and maintenance activities, or to provide a safe environment for a community event. Requests for construction-related road closures are reviewed and approved by the Construction Inspection Division. Requests for event-related road closures are reviewed and approved by the Special Events Division.

  2. Lane Shifts/Construction: 200 E. Washington Street Area

    Due to the construction at 200 E. Washington St., Spring St. between E. Washington St and E. McBee Ave will have lane shifts with limited lane widths. Travel ways will be delineated with traffic barriers and posted signage. Drivers may enter and exit the Spring St Garage in either direction onto Spring St. S Irvine St between E.   2. Mohawk Drive, between Summit Drive and Chick Springs Road

    Mohawk Drive will be closed to through traffic for about four months, for installation of a new sanitary sewer main. If the work is completed sooner than anticipated, the road will open early.

  2. Cammer Avenue, between Augusta Street and Meyers Drive

    Road closed to through traffic for sewer main installation. The road will re-open at the end of each work day and access will be maintained to all properties during construction.

  2. Eugenia Duke pedestrian bridge

    The Eugenia Duke Bridge (the pedestrian bridge behind the Peace Center) and the steps leading from Main Street down to Japanese Dogwood Lane (see linked map) will be closed beginning Wednesday morning. The purpose of the temporary closures is to allow crews to install a new sluice gate at the Reedy River step falls.     This area will be used to stage precast panel deliveries for the parking deck being built at the Hyatt Place Hotel site located at 128 E Broad. Detour routes will be posted.
